The Estate Planners Council of Halton (EPCOH) began in 1999 as the Estate Planners Council of Oakville. The charter members envisioned a group of halton professionals who would meet in an interdisciplinary environment in which the aim was to develop a full appreciation of estate planning theories, rules and strategies as they relate to each respective profession. We provide a forum for our members to discuss current issues.
We are an association of professionals working or living in the halton region and who are committed to expanding our expertise in the area of estate planning. Our key objective is to promote an interdisciplinary environment for our members to develop a full appreciation and understanding of estate planning theories and strategies.
What do we do?
Our purpose is primarily educational, whereby each month from September to May, we meet where a designated speaker presents and discusses relevant issues and concepts that relate to legal, tax, accounting, investment, trust, charitable giving and estate planning. In this atmosphere there has developed a sense of community and the sharing of expertise. We promote dialogue and discussion through monthly dinner meetings with speakers from our own membership as well as recognized leaders in their fields outside our membership. There is ample opportunity for questions, answers and dialogue. In doing so, we build networks within our community and enhance our knowledge.
